• Boat crashes into jetty in Dana Point Harbor; 1 injured person pulled from water

    DANA POINT – One person was pulled from the water with injuries after the small sailboat the victim was in crashed into a jetty at Dana Point Harbor on Monday, April 9.
    The crash was reported at about 1:30 p.m., said Carrie Braun, a spokeswoman for the Orange County Sheriff’s Department, with a Harbor Patrol deputy pulling the person out of the water.

  • Vehicle veers off of I-5 freeway in Orange and crash-lands in Motel 6 parking lot

    ORANGE – The driver of a vehicle that flew off of the I-5 Freeway Sunday night and onto a Motel 6 parking long near the UCI Medical Center was taken to a hospital.
    The 10:30 p.m. incident occurred on the northbound I-5 at Chapman Avenue, a California Highway Patrol dispatcher said Monday. The Motel 6 is at 2920 W. Chapman Avenue.
    The motorist, whose condition had not been publicly released, was trapped inside the vehicle and freed by firefighters.
