    ANAHEIM — The Angels have placed Matt Shoemaker on the disabled list with a strained right forearm, the second of their starters go down with an injury in the past three weeks.
    There was no immediate word on the nature or severity of Shoemaker’s injury.

  • Man accused of beating roommate’s cat to death in Azusa

    An Azusa man was arrested Monday for allegedly beating his roommate’s cat to death because he didn’t like the tabby meowing early that morning.
    The roommate later went to Azusa police and reported that the man killed her cat. The fatal beating happened in the 400 block of Oak Court.
    Sgt. Jorge Sandoval said the suspect had been disturbed by the cat meowing early Monday morning and asked the owner to bring it inside, in hopes it would stop meowing.

    Adrian Kempe sat down at his locker. It was easy to tell he had just worked very hard on the ice. He did not wear a look of worry, though many in his shoes might.
    Kempe, a forward, has 16 goals and 20 assists for the Kings this season. He’s just 21 and in his second season, so that’s not too shabby.
