    The Galaxy’s road trip to New York had to take an early detour Friday morning.
    The club’s flight was diverted to Las Vegas after a passenger had a medical emergency. Galaxy training staff members Ivan Pierra and Cesar Roldan, along with the help of a doctor onboard the airplane, helped revive the woman.

  • 3-year-old dies after being struck by car in Stanton

    A 3-year-old died Thursday evening when a slow-moving car struck it outside a Stanton apartment complex, according to the Orange County Sheriff’s Department.
    The child was pronounced dead at the scene in the 8000 block of Fillmore Drive, Lt. Wayne Rehnelt said. It was immediately unknown if the child was a boy or girl.
    The driver was not arrested. Rehnelt said it appeared that the 6:15 p.m. crash was a “tragic accident.”

    Two good years for Inland Empire job seekers were actually better than we thought.
    State job counters found an extra 6,867 folks at work in Riverside and San Bernardino counties, according to annual revisions of workplace data.
    In January, it was reported Inland Empire bosses had added 43,983 workers last year, or 3.1 percent growth. That followed 2016’s hiring of 47,625 workers last year, or 3.5 percent growth.

    WASHINGTON  U.S. employers went on a hiring binge in February, adding 313,000 jobs, the most in any month since July 2016, and drawing hundreds of thousands of people into the job market.

    ORANGE – For the second time in less than a week Villa Park and University met in a postseason boys soccer match.
    The sequel looked nothing like the original.
    Instead of sitting back and defending, which the Spartans did the last time they played the Trojans, Villa Park pushed forward, its passes hit the intended target and the ball went into the back of the net, giving the Spartans a chance to exact some revenge on the team that shut them out in the CIF-SS Division 3 championship.
