    Get a little entertainment with your basketball with the Harlem Globetrotters.

    FULLERTON – An 83-year-old woman died Friday, Feb. 16, when she was apparently run over by her own car, police said.
    Around 7 a.m., police responded to an alley in the 2400 block of East Chapman Avenue where they found the woman trapped beneath a Honda Accord with its engine running, said Jon Radus said.

    Seemingly every year, the Anaheim resort ups its admission prices. And as tradition has it, there’s the post-hike debate: Are Disneyland tickets worth that much?

  • Newport Beach police: Threat against Corona del Mar High School unfounded

    Newport Beach police say that a threat reported Thursday, Feb. 15 stating there would be violence at Corona del Mar High School on Friday was deemed not credible.
    Sgt. Cory Wolik said the threat was seen in some graffiti found on a desk. Upon investigation, officers found the graffiti was probably two months old.

  • On-ramp to 405 freeway closed in Westminster after reports of fatality

    WESTMINSTER — Coroner’s officials were called to the Westminster Boulevard on-ramp to the northbound 405 freeway Thursday night, Feb. 15, for reports of a fatality.
    California Highway Patrol officials were not immediately reached for comment about how the person died but an incident report log states authorities were called at about 9:52 p.m.
    The log showed that lanes were blocked and that officers were called for a closure of the on-ramp.

  • Defending champion Laguna Beach upset by San Marcos in Division 1 water polo opener

    Laguna Beach’s reign as the CIF-SS Division 1 girls water polo champion came to a sudden and surprising end Thursday.
    San Marcos edged the second-seeded Breakers 8-7 in overtime in the first round of the Division 1’s new Elite 8 playoffs at Newport Harbor High.
    San Marcos (17-11), which lost to Laguna Beach in the final last season, scored the winning goal on a lob by senior Lili Akin on a direct shot just before time expired in overtime.
