    Orange Coast College to host 24 Hour Play fest
    Orange Coast College will host its eighth annual 24 Hour Play Festival this weekend. In a 24-hour span, student playwrights and actors will write a play, rehearse it and then perform. OCC is the only community college to perform the grueling festival.
    The free event will be held at the school’s Drama Lab Studio, 2701 Fairview Road, on Saturday, Feb. 10 and Sunday, Feb. 11. Performances start at 7:30 p.m.
    Parking is available in Lot C and D near Fairview and Arlington Drive.

    SAN CLEMENTE Authorities say a head-on crash that killed one person and seriously injured two others Sunday, Feb. 4, occurred when one driver crossed the center line on San Clemente’s coastal highway and sped into oncoming traffic at 90-plus mph.
    The 4:50 p.m. collision killed the wrong-way driver, identified as 47-year-old Michael Crane of San Clemente, the Orange County Sheriff’s Department reported.

    SANTA ANA A man was killed Wednesday morning, Feb. 7, after he was hit by a car while crossing the street, police said.
    The 6 a.m. crash caused traffic to be shut down at the intersection of Bristol and First streets, according to the Santa Ana Police Department. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
    His name has not been released.
    The driver remained at the scene. No arrests have been made, according to police.
    Investigators are on scene and are diverting traffic.

    ANAHEIM – Foothill’s boys basketball team secured a playoff berth Tuesday with a 61-57 win over Esperanza in a Crestview League game at Esperanza High.
