    Q. I am more than 70 years of age and took the written Department of Motor Vehicles test this year. This is a prejudice against older drivers. Everyone who renews his or her driver’s license, regardless of age, should have to take the test. As it is now, you study the rules at age 16 but do not have to study rules for more than 50 years. This is wrong!  Everyone should know the rules of driving at all ages, not just at ages 16 and 70.

    The Orange County Sheriff’s Department has taken over the county’s helicopter rescue operations after talks disintegrated with the county fire authority in the turf war over who should conduct air rescues.

    Football head coaches have resigned or been reassigned at seven Orange County high schools over the past 10 days.
    Ten football teams will have a different coach for the 2018 season than they did in ’17. Maybe that total will grow before the season starts.
