    The Seal Beach Community Services Department will offer a five-week course in t’ai chi chih — a simplified form of traditional tai chi at the Mary Wilson Senior Center, 707 Electric Ave., beginning Monday, Jan. 8.
    The one-hour classes will be held Monday nights, with intermediate at 5:30 p.m. and beginning at 6:40 p.m. Fee: $57. Sign up at register.sealbeachca.gov.

    SANTA ANA A 26-year-old Anaheim man was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole on Friday for kidnapping and raping a 15-year-old as she walked to school and attempting to kidnap three other girls ages 11 to 16. A jury in September found Elias Omar Xicotencatl guilty of rape, sodomy by force and attempted kidnapping to commit a sex offense.
