    ANAHEIM — Women are less likely than men to get CPR from a bystander and more likely to die, a new study suggests, and researchers think reluctance to touch a woman’s chest might be one reason.
    Only 39 percent of women suffering cardiac arrest in a public place were given CPR versus 45 percent of men, and men were 23 percent more likely to survive, the study found.
    It involved nearly 20,000 cases around the country and is the first to examine gender differences

    JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Even after a bye week off, right tackle Joe Barksdale remained absent from the Chargers’ starting lineup.
    The veteran offensive lineman was left inactive for Sunday’s kickoff against the Jaguars, the fourth game he has missed this season with a foot injury. Barksdale had been hampered by turf toe since training camp, and has not played a full contest since the Week 1 opener in Denver.     A man was killed in an early morning crash in Fullerton, police said Sunday, Nov. 12.
    At 5:05 a.m. Sunday police responded to Euclid Street and Rosecrans Avenue where a 1994 Buick Regal crashed into a retaining wall near the intersection.
    A man, who appeared to be in his 40s, was the sole occupant of the car and was killed in the crash. Police said it appears the Buick was traveling at about 50 miles per hour and the man made no attempt to slow down for the red light at the intersection.

    A 21-year-old man shot in Stanton late Saturday is expected to survive his injuries, authorities said on Sunday Nov. 12.
    The man was shot at about 11:35 p.m. Saturday in the 8500 block of Cerritos Avenue, said Orange County Sheriff’s Department Lt. Nate Wilson.
    The reason for the shooting remains unclear, and the assailant is at large, Wilson said.
    No other details were immediately available.
