  Police were searching Saturday for two men who robbed a Placentia gas station at gunpoint earlier in the day.
  Officers around 12:40 a.m. responded to reports of a robbery at the Chevron gas station in the 300 block of Orangethorpe Avenue, near the 57 Freeway, according to a police statement.

  ANAHEIM – A shooting early Saturday morning at a motel near Disneyland left one person in critical condition.
  Officers responded to reports of an assault at a Motel 6 in the 100 block of West Disney Way shortly before 12:40 a.m., according to a police statement.
  They arrived to find a man in his 20s with a gunshot wound to the head, police said.

• Small quake shakes Cherry Valley area in Southern California

  BANNING — A magnitude-3.2 earthquake struck 4.4 miles northwest of Banning in the Cherry Valley area of Riverside County at 9:39 p.m. Friday, but no damage or injuries were immediately reported.
  The earthquake’s depth was five kilometers (3.1) miles, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.
  Police in Banning said they felt the quake at headquarters, but had received no reports of injuries or damage.
  The area is north of Interstate 10, between Beaumont and Banning.
