    Flights between Southern California and Florida were cancelled Saturday, as the southeast state prepares for the arrival of Hurricane Irma.

    MURRIETA – Vista Murrieta took on its third straight heavyweight Friday night against Orange Lutheran, and the Broncos stood toe-to-toe for most of the first half before falling to the Lancers, 40-20.

    GARDEN GROVE – The Patriot Parachute team touched down on the same high school football field a teenage Michael Monsoor spent the better part of two years roaming as a scrappy tight end.
    Three Navy Seahawk helicopters later flew over the school from which Monsoor graduated in 1999, with his family members, friends and teammates, who still miss him dearly, clutching mini American flags.
    The crowd of a few thousand stood and roared.
