    SANTA ANA –  A Lake Elsinore man was sane when he shot and killed his former urologist in Newport Beach in 2013, an Orange County Superior Court jury determined on Monday.
    The jury convicted Stanwood Fred Elkus, now 79, last week of first-degree murder for shooting 52-year-old Dr. Ronald Gilbert, whom he had blamed for recommending a medical procedure that he believed had damaged his prostate and left him impotent.

    ANAHEIM — A 64-year-old man drove a vehicle through a garage and damaged a gas line Sunday, Aug. 27, authorities said.
    A call came in at 6:25 p.m. that a vehicle hit a house near 270 S. Rose St., Anaheim police Sgt. Ryan Tisdale said.
    The driver, who was stuck in the vehicle in the garage, didn’t receive serious injuries, but was transported to UC Irvine Medical Center in Orange, Tisdale said. No other injuries have been reported.
