    Buena Park joins groundswell of officers wearing body cameras
    BUENA PARK – Officers have begun wearing body-worn cameras here, as the Buena Park Police Department becomes the latest law enforcement agency to adopt technology that is quickly becoming the norm across Orange County and elsewhere.
    Officers were recently trained to use the cameras – which record video and audio of interactions with the public –  and all uniformed officers have been issued the devices, Capt. Gary Worrall said on Wednesday.

    CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. — Workers in Charlottesville draped giant black covers over two statues of Confederate generals on Wednesday to symbolize the city’s mourning for a woman killed while protesting a white nationalist rally.
    The work began around 1 p.m. in Emancipation Park, where a towering monument of Gen. Robert E. Lee on horseback stands. Workers gathered around the monument with a large black drape.

    Using CoreLogic data, we compared sales patterns from the six months ended in June vs. the first half of 2016.

    ANAHEIM — Albert Pujols is the most prodigious foreign-born slugger in major league history.
    Pujols’ three-run homer in the seventh inning of Tuesday’s game against the Texas Rangers was the 610th of his career and gave him sole possession of the foreign-born record. Pujols had moved into a tie with Sammy Sosa, both born in the Dominican Republic, for the mark with a homer against the Orioles last week in Baltimore.

    SANTA ANA — A substance discovered in a cell at Central Men’s Jail on Tuesday night was found to be a narcotic after Orange County Fire Authority’s hazardous materials crew investigated, authorities said.
