    SANTA ANA – An Orange County businessman accused of illegally exporting rifle scopes and other tactical equipment to Syria was arrested Tuesday and charged with smuggling and violating international sanctions.
    A federal grand jury, in an indictment unsealed Tuesday, alleges that Rasheed Al Jijakli, 56, of Walnut hand-carried tactical equipment to fighters in Syria.

    USC’s Ronald Jones, with regrown dreadlocks, eyes bigger workload
    LOS ANGELES — Amid a slow start to his sophomore season last fall, USC running back Ronald Jones II fretted about his hair.
    It was too short.
    The previous year, he had broken out, rushing for more yards than any other freshman in program history. As Jones outran potential tacklers, his dreadlocks flapped from under his cardinal helmet. He missed them, regretting a decision before the season to buzz his hair. The long locks, he cracked, were his power source.

    2 pick-up trucks crash in Fullerton, injuring 1
    FULLERTON — Two pick-up trucks crashed Monday night, sending one person to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, authorities said.
    Police were dispatched to the intersection of Brookhurst Street and Oak Avenue at 7:09 p.m. on Monday, July 31 for the crash, Fullerton Police Department Lt. Andrew Goodrich said.
    The accident caused temporary lane closures at Brookhurst Street in both northbound and southbound directions, Goodrich said.
