    San Clemente police celebrate longtime senior volunteer, now 90
    Neil Barbanell was a young man of 63 when he signed up for the San Clemente Police Department’s Retired Senior Volunteer Program.
    Twenty-seven years later, the SCPD is gone but he’s still as it, one of about three dozen RSVPs who assist the Sheriff’s Department’s San Clemente Police Services, under auspices of the city. On Wednesday, June 21, the RSVPs tossed a birthday party to salute Barbanell for turning 90.
