    DANA POINT  Thousands listened to the soulful sounds of blues, ate an assortment of foods and quenched their thirst during summer-like heat at the 20th anniversary of the Doheny Blues Festival at Doheny State Beach.
    The two-day event, May 20-21, put on by Omega Events, drew nearly 20,000 with many coming from San Diego and Los Angeles counties.
    Musicians played at three stages, the Doheny Stage, the PCH Stage and the Backporch, a smaller more intimate setting.

    Thomas Chapman Hood, 69, was sentenced to five year’s probation and ordered to pay back more than $534,850 in restitution to her.
    Hood was also sentenced to 212 days in jail but given credit for already spending the same amount of time behind bars, meaning he will not have to serve any additional time.

    San Juan Capistrano will file complaint to FAA about air traffic, noise
    SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO The city is filing a complaint with the Federal Aviation Administration, objecting to airline routes and altitudes over San Juan Capistrano.
    On a 4-1 vote, the City Council directed city staff on Tuesday, May 16 to send a letter objecting to “an unnecessary increase in aircraft noise and quality of life disturbance” from FAA-approved routes out of area airports.
