    ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – The Gathering of Nations kicks off in less than two weeks and guests can expect big changes.
    The biggest change of all is the location. The event will be held April 27 through April 29 at “The Pow Wow Grounds” at Expo New Mexico in Tingley Coliseum.
    For most of its 34 years, the Gathering of Nations was held at The Pit, but after last year’s show, the University of New Mexico wanted more rent, leading to the school cutting ties.

    Rio Rancho police ID man found dead after fight
    RIO RANCHO, N.M. (KRQE) – Police have released new details after a fatal fight in Rio Rancho.
    It happened on Friday, March 31. Police say officers were dispatched to Eventide SE near Unser and Idalia.
    When they arrived they found two males that had been stabbed. One of the men, 23-year-old Kenneth Torres was pronounced dead at the scene. The other man was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

    ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – The Carlsbad Police Department was dispatched Thursday night to investigate a victim suffering from a gunshot wound.
    It happened Thursday night on the 2400 block of Idaho.
    The suspect was identified as Jason Cirios, age 33. He was later pronounced dead at the scene.
    A person of interest has been identified, but no arrests have been made at this time.

    SANTA FE, N.M. (AP) – New Mexico has recorded its first death this year from hantavirus.
    The state Department of Health says the 54-year-old man who died was from San Juan County in northwestern New Mexico and that he was the second case of hantavirus confirmed in the state this year.
