    Bellway walks away from Crest Nicholson takeover bid
    Bellway has decided not to launch a £720m takeover of Crest Nicholson despite months of negotiations with its smaller rival.
    Both sides have been in discussions since May with an opening £650m offer rejected by Crest Nicholson.
    But Crest Nicholson directors indicated last month they “were minded to recommend”an improved £720m offer.But Bellway suddenly announced on Tuesday that “it does not intend to make a firm offer for Crest Nicholson.”

    Graham to build 10m deep cap over radioactive waste site
    Graham has secured the four-year task to finally encapsulate a legacy low-level waste storage site in Cumbria.
    Nuclear Waste Services, which manages the disposal of the UK’s low-level radioactive waste, commissioned the important work on the final capping of disposal trenches and vaults used through the sixties to the late eighties.
    Graham starts work this month on the Southern Trenches Interim Membrane – STIM -project with major works commencing in February 2025.
