• Man suffers multiple fractures in HS2 accident

  An engineering firm has been fined £52,500 after an employee suffered a fractured skull, hip, jaw and pelvis, while working at a HS2 construction site in Hertfordshire.
  The man, employed as a mechanical engineer by EMC Elite Engineering Services Ltd, had been repairing a conveyor at the site on Chalfont Lane, West Hyde when he fell 11 metres on 20 November 2022.

• Plans in for £64m Suffolk A12 upgrade

  Suffolk County Council has submitted plans for a £64m series of road improvements to the A12 have been Lowestoft and Ipswich.

  Higgins has clinched a deal with London’s Lambeth Council to build more than 360 new homes in the heart of Brixton.The council is set to work with Higgins on the second phase of development in Somerleyton Road under proposals for a net-zero development of 363 new homes, of which 195 homes would be affordable.This is still subject to planning permission being granted.
