    The Crown Commercial Service will start the first round of market engagement events this month for its upcoming £2bn Construction Professional Services Framework renewal.
    Around 25 consultants will be fighting to retain their places on the prized Government framework as the second-generation deal formally goes out to tender on 1 December.

    Jigsaw Homes Midlands has appointed a new contractor to complete the development of 131 affordable homes in Nottinghamshire where work ground to a halt when Ilke Homes went bust last year.

    Hinkley C second reactor being built 20%-30% faster
    Around 12,000 workers are now driving ahead construction of the Hinkley Point C nuclear power station as preparation work advances to install the first reactor in Unit 1.
    Simon Parson, Nuclear Island Area Director, said work was also now accelerating on building second reactor unit buildings where work was typically progressing 20%-30% faster than on unit one.
