• Industry rebar supplies at risk from Chatham Docks scheme

    Steel producer ArcelorMittal is warning that its rebar facility supplying 30% of UK needs may have to close as a result of a planned new business park at Chatham Docks.
    Developer Peel Waters last night gained planning consent from Medway council to transform the 18 acre waterfront industrial estate at Chatham Docks into a new high-spec business park.
    The Basin 3 employment and enterprise campus is hoped to bring thousands of new jobs to the area.

    Plans to redevelop The Hotspur Press former Victorian mill building in Manchester to provide nearly 600 student bedrooms have got the planning green light from city planners.
    The scheme is London developer Manner’s first in Manchester and will preserve much of the old cotton mill’s existing brick exterior.

    Kier has finalised the price for a complex rebuild and refurbishment of Trinity Academy school in the Queensberry area of Bradford.
