    Transport jobs get £4.7bn of cancelled HS2 cash
    The government has released further details of the reallocation of £4.7bn in transport funding following the cancellation of the northern leg of HS2.
    Investment from the new Local Transport Fund will provide better public transport, reduced congestion and upgraded local bus and train stations across the North and Midlands.

    The Government’s competition watchdog has launched an investigation into suspected breaches of competition law by the eight major house builders.
    The Competition and Markets Authority said it had uncovered evidence during a far-reaching study into house market delivery that indicated some house builders may be sharing commercially sensitive information with their competitors.
    It added that it was concerned that this could be influencing the build-out of sites and the prices of new homes.

    HS2 launches third London Northolt tunnel TBM
    HS2’s London tunnels contractor Skanska Costain Strabag joint venture has launched the third tunnel boring machine to be used to dig part of the 8.4-mile Northolt Tunnel under the outskirts of the capital.
