HMRC construction tax helpline takes 12 week holiday

Subcontractors with queries over their tax affairs have been left stranded after HMRC decided to shut its self-assessment telephone helpline for three months.
The department is piloting a “seasonal model” which will direct self-assessment queries from the helpline to its digital services, including online guidance, digital assistant and webchat.

Morgan Sindall chalks up Cardiff secondary school

Cardiff City Council has signed off an enabling works deal with Morgan Sindall to rebuild 900-place Willows High School.
The £3.4m enabling works signals the go-ahead for the latest scheme to be delivered under the Band B, Sustainable Communities for Learning programme.
