    Willmott Dixon signs off £30m Darlington station job
    Willmott Dixon has confirmed sign-off of a £30m deal to transform the entrance to Darlington Station as part of Network Rail’s £140m masterplan to deliver extra train capacity and better passenger facilities at the station.
    Work on the huge overhaul of Darlington Station also includes a new multi-storey car park integrated within the bigger entrance area that is the station’s gateway to the town.
    Network Rail will start work later this summer on creating two new platforms

    Police raid new owner of £300m car battery gigaplant
    The Australian company that rescued car battery firm Britishvolt has been raided by police investigating alleged tax fraud.
    The Australian Federal Police swooped on the office of Scale Facilitation on Friday.
    Scale Facilitation subsidiary Recharge Industries bought Britishvolt out of administration in March and confirmed it wanted to go-ahead with plans to build a £300m car battery plant in Northumberland where main contractor ISG paused construction work last summer when funding dried-up
