    Severfield workers win 8% wage rise
    Steelworkers at specialist contractor Severfield have ended three weeks of strike days after narrowly accepting a new wage offer.
    Workers at the steelwork contractor’s Dalton site voted 52% in favour of the latest offer from management.
    The deal sees an 8% uplift on all rates backdated from April to March 2024, plus a £900 non-consolidated cost of living payment.

    TfL submits plan for DLR extension to Thamesmead
    TfL has submitted to Government strategic business case plans to extend the DLR rail link from Beckton to Thamesmead through a new Thames tunnel.
    The extension of the DLR would improve transport connections and enable the construction of up to 25,000-30,000 new homes along the route.
    Under the business plan, DLR proposes an extension from Gallions Reach to Thamesmead via Beckton Riverside adding two more stations to the route, opening up development potential along both banks of the Thames.

    Russell WBHO has been appointed by developer Ask:PATRIZIA to build a £48m 344 bedroom new hotel at Baltic Quarter on Gateshead Quayside.

    Plans to build a new road linking the M6 with south Lancaster have been shelved due to soaring cost pressures.
