    Drone hits builder during site survey flight
    A drone fell from the sky and hit a construction worker during a site inspection flight on a housing site in Lancashire.
    A report released by the Air Accidents Investigation Branch said the drone suffered a rapid loss of battery power above the Garsteng site.

    Developer Landsec has submitted plans to redevelop 55 Old Broad Street in London’s Square Mile with an office-led mixed-use scheme.
    The 480,000 sq ft scheme designed by Fletcher Priest Architects will involve demolition of the existing 55 Old Broad Street building, the link bridge over Wormwood Street and partial demolition of the southern and northern ends of 65 Old Broad Street.

    Derby-based building contractor Bowmer & Kirkland returned stable revenue and profit last year despite more challenging market conditions.

    Road workers threatened with machetes
    A campaign has been launched in Birmingham to respect road workers after civils staff were threatened with weapons including machetes, crossbows and dogs.
    In the last three years 465 incidents of road worker abuse have been reported in Birmingham including a driver who threatened to chop off an operative’s head with an electric handsaw unless he was allowed through a closed road.
