    The Government has opted for Derby as the new home of Great British Railways, the new public body responsible for running our railways.
    The city was selected to be the location of the new GBR headquarters, beating off rival bids from Birmingham, Crewe, Doncaster, Newcastle and York.

    Tilbury Douglas has been awarded the contract for a new £25.5m outpatients building at Haywood Community Hospital in Stoke-on-Trent.

    Proposals for a £200m mixed-use office and hotel scheme at 20 Haymarket Yards in Edinburgh have got the planning thumbs up.

    London tower over historic Leadenhall market approved
    Plans to build a 32-storey tower to rejuvenate London’s historic Leadenhall Market given the green light.
    Malayasia developer Hershten Group has gained approval yesterday from the City of London Corporation for the 158m at 85 Gracechurch Street.
    The plans, drawn up by architect Woods Bagot, joins several other proposed building that will link the city high-rise cluster with the Walkie-talkie building at 20 Fenchurch St to the south.
