    Heavy rain sinks January construction output
    Two weeks of wet weather at the start of the year bogged down construction activity which fell 1.7% in January.
    Bad weather got the New Year off to a soggy start amid an ongoing slowdown of work in the housing sector.

    Building Safety Act to get £42m force of new inspectors
    The government is pledging to spend £42m over the next three years recruiting and training more than 200 new inspectors to police the Building Safety Act.
    The grant funding will enable local regulators to recruit, train and employ new Building Control Inspectors and Fire Inspectors.

    Ten houses were flooded after a piling rig at a housing site in Beeston, Nottinghamshire burst a water main shooting a powerful jet water tens of metres into the air.
