• Aston Villa £100m stadium expansion approved

    Birmingham City Council has granted planning permission for phase one of Aston Villa FC’s redevelopment and expansion of Villa Park.
    The project will increase the stadium’s capacity to over 50,000, allowing Villa Park to host major international tournaments and enable its return to the world stage.

    Private equity-owned civils contractor Octavius Infrastructure has reported improved profits since being hived off from Osborne Group.
    Pre-tax profit for the year to March 2022 jumped just over a quarter to nearly £6m on revenue dipped by 7% to £191m.
