• Government pays £700m for 50% stake in Sizewell C

    The Government has confirmed its commitment to nuclear projects after sealing a deal to take forward the £20bn Sizewell C scheme in partnership with French power giant EDF.
    It also today confirmed it will announce funding in the New Year for a new arms length development body for nuclear power, called Great British Nuclear.
