    Constructionline is bringing its 2022 Meet the Buyer programme to its final location in Manchester.
    A host of big name contractors and clients will be looking to boost their supply chains across the North West during the event at the Etihad Stadium on Thursday November 17.
    Running from 8:30am-2:00pm, the event will see organisations attending, including Balfour Beatty, BAM, Kier, Ministry of Justice and VINCI Facilities.The event is sponsored by landscaping and fencing specialist Ground Contro.
  • £152m Portishead to Bristol rail line wins development consent

    The Government has granted final approval for plans to re-open passenger services between a new Portishead station and Bristol Temple Meads.
    Preparation work can now begin on the £152m Portishead to Bristol line which will bring the 5.5km disused rail line back into use and see a car and bus interchange built at Portishead.
    The project is a key part of the first phase of the MetroWest programme of transport improvements across the region being led by the West of England Combined Authority
  • Green light for £100m North East warehouse complex

    Developer Richardson Barberry has secured detailed planning consent for a £100m development of eight warehouse units at a major North East business park.
    Durham County Council has approved the company’s plans for the first phase development of 830,500 sq ft of warehouse/logistics space on 42-acres of the 116-acre site at Forrest Park.
    Earthworks are expected to begin on site next year and over the next 10 years the park will provide 1.8 million sq ft of industrial space making Ayclif
  • GPE awards Lendlease £130m London office job

    London developer Great Portland Estates has confirmed Lendlease will build a major 13-storey office scheme in the Square Mile.
    The decision to go-ahead with the 320,000 sq ft 2 Aldermanbury Square development follows the announcement this morning of a pre-let deal with legal firm Clifford Chance to take all floors of the building.

  • British Land sees construction cost inflation easing

    British Land is predicting construction cost inflation will ease to a maximum 4-5% next year as subcontractor rate rises start to soften as some projects are delayed or cancelled.
    The developer said inflation is still running at 8-10% this year.
    But it added: “There is a possibility that inflation next year is lower than our forecast with early signs construction capacity is increasing as development projects are deferred or cancelled and tender prices for demolition works are stabilising.
  • Bidding starts for Pagabo £1bn refit and refurb deal

    National framework provider Pagabo has opened bidding for its second-generation refit and refurbishment framework.
    The framework worth an estimated £1bn will run for four years from March 2023 and will provide a compliant and collaborative route to market for public and private sector clients to procure refit and refurbishment works valued at £50,000 and above.
