    Kirklees Council has submitted plans to regenerate Huddersfield’s town centre Piazza area.
    The £200m Cultural Heart scheme is the centrepiece of the wider Huddersfield Blueprint – the council’s ambitious ten-year vision to create a thriving, modern-day town centre.

    Housing association Hyde has decided to bring all its London property maintenance in-house.
    Previously, outsourcing contractor Mears provided repairs and maintenance across 11,000 homes in the London boroughs of Greenwich, Lambeth, Southwark, Lewisham, Camden, Islington, Harrow and Brent.

  • Barhale gears up for growth as profits rise

    Barhale is looking forward to a surge in work as the civil engineering and infrastructure specialist posted a solid set of result.
    In the year to 30 June 2022, Barhale Group posted a pre-tax profit of £3.2m, up from £1.3m last time as turnover remained stable at £109m.
    Chief executive Martin Brown is now expecting a surge in work in the last few years of the current AMP7 water deals while Barhale also looks to boost its turnover in the rail market.

    Cumbria County Council has appointed Story Contracting to deliver improvement works on the A595 at Grizebeck, north of Barrow.
    The council named the Carlisle civils contractor after the 1.4km Grizebeck improvement scheme gained planning consent allowing for the project to start next year.
