    Bond Street’s Elizabeth line station will finally open on Monday 24 October.
    The opening will mean trains from Reading, Heathrow, and Shenfield will connect with the central tunnels of the Elizabeth line – opening up new direct journeys across the capital.

    Biotech firm Vectura has got the planning thumbs up to build a major R&D facility in Bristol.
    The Chippenham-based firm specialises in asthma inhalers and is understood to have Willmott Dixon lined up to build its planned 10,000m² Inhalation Centre of Excellence.

    The transformation of St Helens town centre has got the green light allowing prepartions for demolition to start in April next year.
    English Cities Fund – a joint venture between Muse, Legal & General and Homes England – will now advance detailed designs for phase one of the town centre masterplan.

  • Fire destroys conveyor belt at Silvertown Tunnel site

    A conveyor belt was damaged by fire when a blaze broke out on the Silvertown Tunnel site on Tuesday night.
    Six fire engines and 40 firefighters were called to the site  on North Woolwich Road in Silvertown.
    Around 25 workers left the site before the London Fire Brigade arrived. There were no reports of any injuries.Station Commander Daniel Capon, who was at the scene, said: “Access to the fire was challenging, with firefighters working to reach a sub-surface conveyor belt.
