    Private equity group Cabot Square Capital has acquired a majority shareholding in South East developer and contractor Chartway Group.

    Murphy Group appoints new chairman
    J Murphy & Sons has named its new chairman to replace Alastair Kerr, who retires at the end of the year after 10 years at the business.
    John Cresswell, current non-executive director of Capita, has been appointed as non-executive chairman, effective from the start of November.
    Cresswell, who is also operating advisor at investment bank Lazard Asset Management, joins as the specialist engineering and civils contractor targets further growth on the back of strong recent trading.

    Major southern regional contractor Brymor Construction is telling subcontractors to stop work at sites.
    The Hampshire firm’s head office telephone has also been diverted to voicemail for several days.
    Brymor is one of the biggest regional contractors operating around the south coast of England, employing around 150 staff at the £80m revenue business.
