    Altrad swoops for Doosan Babcock
    French-based scaffolding giant Altrad has struck a deal to buy engineering contractor Doosan Babcock.
    The deal is due complete this summer and will see the transfer of around 4,000 staff to the expanding Altrad scaffolding and industrial services group.

    Suspended jail sentences after fatal roof fall
    Two men have been fined and received suspended sentences after a worker fell over five metres through fragile roof panels suffering injuries that subsequently proved fatal.
    Newcastle Crown Court heard how that on 16 November 2015, the worker was carrying out over-cladding work, involving the installation of new roofing material over an existing fragile asbestos cement roof, at an industrial building on West Chirton (South) Industrial Estate, North Shields, Tyne and Wear.

    Pagabo names £1.6bn civils framework winners
    National framework provider Pagabo has selected 48 firms for a new £1.6bn civils and infrastructure framework.
    Buckingham Group, Kier, Galliford Try, Graham, John Sisk and Sir Robert McAlpine are among those making the pool selected civils contractors.
