  A major new residential development of over 1,400 homes will be built on brownfield land west of Leeds city centre, after plans were approved yesterday.
  Latimer, the development arm of Clarion Housing Group, has been given the green light to transform the vacant 13-acre riverside plot on Kirkstall Road with a £200m-plus scheme.

• Labour costs soar to all-time high in London

  Labour rates on building sites broke records in London last month as average weekly earnings for self-employed tradespeople hit £1,027.
