• Green light for twin 51-storey Manchester towers

  North West high-rise builder Renaker has got the planning green light for two more skyscrapers at its Great Jackson Street cluster in Manchester.
  Designed by architect SimpsonHaugh, each building will provide 490 private flats for sale as well as a residents’ lounge and gym.

  Administrators at Roadbridge UK Ltd have confirmed the civils contractor has ceased trading with more than 200 staff made redundant.
  Rob Parker, Director at Grant Thornton said: “Due to the financial position of the business, unfortunately the UK business has ceased to trade with the vast majority of the 215 employees being made redundant.

  Multiplex Europe’s construction business edged back into profit last year after enduring a £158m pre-tax loss in 2020 blamed on the impact of Covid.

• Firms picked for £500m Bedfordshire works plan

  Central Bedfordshire Council has picked its lineup of contractors to deliver a planned £500m pipeline of important projects over the next four years.

  Manchester’s famous Boddingtons brewery will become a new housing scheme of more than 400 new homes after plans were given the green light.
