• Roofer dies in six metre plunge through asbestos sheets

  A contractor has been sentenced after an employee was fatally injured in Liverpool when he fell six metres through a roof.
  Liverpool Crown Court heard that on 22 May 2017, roofer Marius Andrus was completing snagging work on a replacement roof.

• Galliard scoops up trio of sites for schemes worth £265m

  Galliard Homes has acquired three key London commuter sites for £265m of residential development.
  The deals for sites in Redbridge, Ipswich and Milton Keynes follow a successful period last year when Galliard sold out schemes with a combined development value in excess of £800m.

• Bill for £22bn HS2 extension to Manchester goes to Parliament

  The Bill extending HS2 to Manchester is handed to Parliament today in a landmark move that paves the way for construction supporting 17,500 jobs.
  At the same time, the Government produced a more detailed costing for the 52-mile route from Crewe to Manchester putting the spending envelope at £15bn-£22bn.

• Subbies stop working for Beaumont Morgan Developments

  Subcontractors have stopped working for Manchester based contractor Beaumont Morgan Developments (BMD).
  Suppliers have been contacting the Enquirer for the last few weeks about the £47m turnover contractor.
