BLOOMINGTON — Mary Elizabeth "Betsy" Larson passed away Friday (July 29, 2016) in Aurora; a longtime Bloomington-Normal resident, she was 86.

HEAVENER — Marie Steelman, 93, of Heavener died Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2016, in Poteau. She was born Aug. 30, 1922 in Page, Okla. She was a homemaker, a member of Big Creek Baptist Church and the widow of Clyde Steelman.

POTEAU — Hubert Lee Cox, 97, of Poteau died Thursday, July 28, 2016, in Poteau. He was born March 8, 1919, in Spiro. He was the widower of Wilma Cox.

SPIRO — Helen Frazier Swait, 87, of Spiro died Saturday, July 30, 2016, in Tulsa. She was born Dec. 13, 1928, in Fort Coffee. She was a member of Macedonia Church of God and the widow of Eugene Swait.

VANDERVOORT — Douglas "DoLittle" Baker, 69, of Vandervoort died Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2016, in Fort Smith. He was born Feb. 1, 1947, in Cove. He was in the logging business.

Charles Randell Maness, 63, of Sallisaw passed away Sunday, July 31, 2016, in Sallisaw. He was born Sept. 21, 1952, in Jackson, Tenn., the son of Virgil and Helen (Birmingham) Maness. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran and of the Baptist faith.

Elmer R. Russell, 77, left this world to be with his creator July 26, 2016. He was born to Ralph and Bertha Russell in Kingfisher, Okla., April 8, 1939.

Bobbie Jo Muncie, 76, of Roland passed away Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2016, in Roland. She was born June 11, 1940, in Longview, Texas, the daughter of Troy and Ora (Knighten) Barefield. She was married to Jerry Breckenridge Muncie on Feb. 16, 1983, in Henderson, Texas. She worked for Walmart Distribution Center and was of the Assembly of God faith.

Shirley Gail Jones, 64 of Chester passed away Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2016, in a local hospital. She was a custodian at Allen Canning Co. in Van Buren and was of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by her parents J.C. and Hilda (Bright) Whitlock.

George Pat Muncy, 87, of Fort Smith passed away Aug. 2, 2016. He was born June 8, 1929, in Calhoun, Okla., west of Shady Point. He was an Air Force veteran. At the age of 16, he joined the Merchant Marines. In his late years, he raised cattle and was an electrician with Union IBEW. He was a member of Wesley Methodist Church.

Walter O. Mitchell, known as "Spud" to family and friends, of Springdale passed away Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2016, in Fayetteville. Spud was born March 8, 1941, in Prairie Grove to Olen and Clara Pool Mitchell. He grew up in West Fayetteville and graduated from Farmington High School. He attended Oklahoma State Tech. Spud was married to Janet Davis Mitchell for 51 years, was the parent of one son, Bradley Davis Mitchell and one daughter, Kristen Leigh Mitchell.
