FRESNO, Calif. — Esther (Wagers) Holmes died Monday, July 25, 2016, in Fresno, Calif. She was born April 22, 1934, in Tahlequah, Okla. She was the widow of Jack Holmes.

Freda Mae Blount, 84, of Van Buren died Wednesday, July 27, 2016, in her home. She was a waitress at Nations Drive Inn in Van Buren, a member of First Freewill Baptist Church in Fort Smith and the widow of Billy Blount.

James Michael Standefer completed his journey with ALS at Circle of Life Hospice as he passed into the presence of the lord July 16, 2016. He was born in Waco, Texas, to James Henry Standefer and Annie Pearl Wyly Standefer on July 21, 1950. Michael married Diane Sinclair Standefer on Aug. 22, 1977, in El Paso, Texas. He had three sons whom he cherished.

Frances Fooks Newhouse, 85, of Greenwood, formerly of Fort Smith, passed away July 27, 2016, in Fort Smith. She was born March 28, 1931, in Camden to Benjamin Tyndle and Gulnara Estelle Thornton Fooks. She was a former librarian for Arkansas Tech University, Centenary College in Shreveport, La., and the Sebastian County Law Library. She was a member of Greenwood United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women.

BOONEVILLE — Corrine Dingler, 80, of Booneville died Wednesday, July 27, 2016, in Fort Smith. She was born Aug. 13, 1935, in Dallas. She was a retired certified nurse's aide, formerly worked at Oak Manor Nursing Home in Booneville and was the widow of Richard Dingler.

Reba Jo Fisher Gregory, 88, of Dyer passed away Wednesday, July 27, 2016, in Fort Smith. She was born Aug. 2, 1927, in Mulberry to the late Garland and Mary Fisher. She was a retired seamstress and loved to quilt. She was a member and treasurer of Dyer Baptist Church, where she also taught Sunday school. She was preceded in death by her husband, Troy Gregory.

Mary Ann Harness, 77, of Van Buren died Tuesday, July 26, 2016, in a local hospital. She was born June 27, 1939, in Fort Smith. She was a homemaker and a Baptist.

Krysti Ann "Sis" Hughes, 31, of Muldrow passed away Tuesday, July 26, 2016, in Fort Smith. She was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army. She was full of life, never met a stranger, had a heart of gold and will be missed greatly by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Ruby Hughes; and her great-grandmother, Dema Moore.
