Karolyn Ruth Traw (Metzker), 69, of Arkoma passed away July 13, 2016, and peacefully resides in heaven with her lord and savior, Jesus Christ. Karol was born Nov. 14, 1946, in Poteau to John and Oma Lee Metzker (Ward). Karol graduated from Poteau High School in 1965, Sparks School of Nursing and Northeastern State University, Tahlequah, with a degree in education. Patricia Mary Cockram, mother, educator, activist, passed away Thursday, July 7, 2016, at the age of 96. She was born in Denver, Colo., on Oct. 7, 1919, and was raised in Birmingham, Ala. Patricia was a talented painter in her youth and continued making art until the end of her life. In 1942, she married Kenneth Cockram, who served as a lieutenant in the U.S. Army Air Corps in the Pacific during World War II.
