Linda Anne Hughes was born to Jessie and Pecolia Richardson Ivery in Dalhart, Texas. Linda was very young when she developed a passion for reading. She also loved education and in particular, the subject of math. She completed her bachelor's in accounting from Brown University. Even as a small child, it was obvious she would be a social butterfly. She loved people. She worked for the state of Arkansas for many years. Phillip "Red" Mathews, 61, of Muldrow passed away May 2, 2016, in his home. Red was born April 4, 1955, in Sallisaw to Paul Edward and Ruby Bell (Knapp) Mathews. Phillip went to work when he was 15 at Baldor, and he told them he was 16. He then entered the Army, serving from 1974-76. He was then employed by the Sequoyah County Water Association for 27 years. He and Corena Maxine Roastingear were married Sept. 10, 1977. He was a hard-working man all of his life, a loving husband, father and papa
