• Tomb Raider Movie Inspired by New Games, Says Director

  Back in November, Warner Bros. and MGM tapped Norwegian filmmaker Roar Uthaug to direct their Tomb Raider movie reboot, with Geneva Robertson-Dworet (Transformers 5) penning the script.

• Thief Video Game Movie Adaptation in the Works

  Straight Up Films has acquired the rights to adapt Square Enix’s Thief video game into a movie.
  According to the Hollywood Reporter, Thief’s screenplay will be written by Adam Mason and Simon Boyes (Misconduct, Not Safe for Work) and will be set in a “dark fantasy world where a master thief tries to restore freedom denied by a magic-wielding tyrant,” which is similar to the plot in Square Enix’s 2014 reboot of Thief.

  Spelunky’s new world record is 1:40.145 by speedrunner d_tea.
  The record is thanks to a lucky teleporter found at random in a crate in the game’s first level. Just a few levels later, d_tea also finds a jetpack and a compass (as well as a second teleporter), allowing him to navigate to the exit even faster and securing the record.
