    FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – From the snowflakes of the Summit City to the sand of the Florida shore, Saint Francis left for Daytona Beach on Tuesday afternoon as USF will play for the NAIA title on Saturday.
    The Cougars are looking for back-to-back national championships. The top-ranked Cougars face no. 2 Reinhardt University at 6 p.m. on Saturday.

  • Community shows support for Addison Agen

    FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) Signs around Fort Wayne and inside Concordia High School showed support for the hometown “The Voice” contestant Tuesday.
    Addison Agen performed in the semi-final round of the singing competition Monday and waited to find out if she made the final round of four singers.
    Signs were on display at The Embassy Theatre, Paint The Town Graphics, Holiday Inn on Coliseum Blvd. and several other businesses ahead of the results show.

  • Woman dies after crashing into Wabash River

    BLUFFTON, Ind. (WANE) A Berne woman has died after she crashed into the Wabash River Tuesday.
    According to police, Sherry L. Green, 53, lost control of her vehicle and crossed over the center line before driving down the embankment into the river.
    A witness told authorities the vehicle then flipped in the water and became completely submerged.
    A witness saw the incident and called 911, officials said.

  • Water rescue underway in Wabash River

    BLUFFTON, Ind. (WANE) Rescue crews in Wells County are working on a water rescue in the Wabash River.
    Just before 4 p.m. Tuesday, emergency responders were called to an address at 6595 S.R. 116, along the Wabash River on the southern tip of the Ouabache State Park.
    Wells County and Bluffton City officials would not unveil what’s happening at the scene. Bluffton Fire officials, though, confirmed they are assisting with a water rescue in the river.

    SOUTH BEND, Ind. (AP) — An Indiana man has been sentenced to 130 years in prison for a fatal shooting that happened when he was 15 years old.
    Twenty-year-old Jermaine Munn, of South Bend, is already serving prison time for another deadly shooting that happened when he was a juvenile.
    A jury last month convicted Munn of murder in the July 2013 shooting death of 20-year-old Jarina Bailey. Authorities say the shooting happened during a fight between two rival gangs.

    CROWN POINT, Ind. (AP) — A northwestern Indiana high school teacher who was charged with cocaine possession after students allegedly saw her with drugs in her classroom is due back in court in February.
