The City of Abbotsford has announced that it has received $7 million in federal funding for further improvements along Fraser Highway.

B.C is adding 5,000 trades-training spaces to for students across every region in the province for 2026-27.
Premier David Eby made the announcement at Kwantlen Polytechnic University (KPU) in Cloverdale July 28. KPU is getting 462 of those new skilled-trades training seats for September. The additional seats brings KPU up to 1,762 trades-training seats.
The effort is expected to cost the province $241 million over three years.

A University of British Columbia professor says a recent study near Summerland shows forest practices are resulting in more frequent and more intense flooding.

Karen was born on October 8, 1944, in Selkirk, Manitoba. At a young age, she moved with her family to British Columbia, where she spent the rest of her life building lasting friendships and growing her family.
