  In an update from the Regional District of Okanagan Similkameen (RDOS), BCWS’ Erin Catherall, a fire information officer, gave an update on current conditions.

• Pedestrian dies after collision with commercial vehicle in Saanich

  A pedestrian has died after being struck by a commercial vehicle in Saanich early Saturday morning.
  Saanich police say the collision happened shortly after 3 a.m. Aug. 8 at the intersection of McKenzie Avenue and Glanford Avenue.
  Despite efforts by first responders, the pedestrian died from their injuries at the scene, police said. The victim’s next of kin has been notified.

  A three-year-old girl was airlifted to hospital after she was mauled by a bear in Maple Ridge.
  The incident happened on a residential property at 11:30 a.m. in the 12300 block of 240 Street on Sunday morning, Aug. 9.The victim sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to hospital.
  Multiple conversation officers responded to the area with RCMP officers to search for the bear that fled into a greenbelt.

  I was laid back in Powell River last week.While there, my friend took us to a private liquor store. I was smiling at the fact this little plaza had three stores in its block. The liquor store (with beer and wine) at one end, and a cannabis store at the other.
