SUNRISE, Fla. — Carey Price will be back home in Montreal when the Canadiens resume their Christmas road trip Friday with a game against the Florida Panthers (7 p.m., TSN2, RDS, TSN 690 Radio).

Lesley Chesterman's favourite Montreal restaurant dishes of 2018
Hundreds of dishes were ordered, consumed and analyzed this year by yours truly, and with every bite came the hope that I was about to eat something phenomenal, something spectacular, something — dare I say it? — epic.
Truth is, you’d be lucky to get something delicious, and more often than not, you’d just get something OK. Not every Netflix series is a winner, not every friend is a keeper, and not every red wine pairs with red meat. And how great, because if everything -
Friends remember West Island man who died on Lac St.-Louis over Christmas
Just as he had done hundreds of times throughout his life, Don Etienne set out for a skate on Lac St.-Louis sometime between Christmas Eve and Christmas morning.
But as he strode up the icy waterfront, his body gave way. Etienne didn’t appear to have tried to reach for his cellphone or crawl back to shore, police told his friend. They said he collapsed.
Police found the 58-year-old’s body on Tuesday morning.

The Impact arrived at the final game of the regular season on Oct. 28 with a chance to earn a berth in the Major League Soccer playoffs.

Quebec books claimed high ground in 2018, from Beirut to the Townships
It was a very good year for Quebec books. Newcomers crashed the scene, trusted names were in top form, and translations bridged the language gap with a frequency and speed seldom seen. Here, in no special order, is a genre-spanning selection of 2018 highlights.
In Rawi Hage’s fourth novel Beirut Hellfire Society (Knopf Canada), a second-generation undertaker makes his jaded but clear-eyed way through a war-ravaged city, serving the loose-knit titular community whose unconve -

From Safia Nolin to Ought: 10 Quebec albums that defined 2018
My 10 favourite Quebec recordings of 2018 have nothing in common except that they’re all the work of inspired independent artists who’re most definitely marching to the beat of their own drummers. That’s what’s cool about the coolsters ici. They do their own thing and by not letting themselves be defined by what’s hot and what’s not, they end up making ultra original music, in English and en français.
You could say that Hubert Lenoir is the year’s -

Opinion: Quebec fails to meet the needs of children with autism
Before 2005, I did not think very much about the public education system and the options available to parents of children with disabilities. When my second child was diagnosed with autism, a neurodevelopmental disorder that includes communication and behaviour challenges, among other issues, the educational options were limited.
Unfortunately, that’s still the case. A child with autism at school age can thrive with the right supports, yet supports for kids with autism in schools across Que -
Opinion: In 2019, older women will be leading the way
A few months ago, I had lunch with a wonderful woman named Louise. A mutual friend had put us in touch, and suggested that we meet.
Louise had spent decades heading the communications departments of two very large Quebec institutions. Now in her mid-60s, she is retired, though her packed agenda and commitments on various boards suggests she doesn’t know the meaning of the word.
Over the menu du jour, we discussed the new challenges in media and communications. I listened to her intently.

Only in Montreal, 2018: Golf tournaments transfix Habs Nation
Fans of the Montreal Canadiens, as well as the scores of journalists who cover them, do not take the summer off.
The year 2018 was certainly no exception in that regard, with ample radio airwaves and copious newspaper column inches devoted to one particular Habs-related obsession: the fate of beleaguered captain Max Pacioretty, who, following an especially bad season — for him and his team — had been the subject of rampant trade speculation throughout the year, rumours of which only -
