Analyze This: Canadiens remain among NHL's best teams in key metrics
We’re quickly approaching the midway mark of the NHL calendar, and the results for the Canadiens have been nothing short of astounding, given how poorly most analysts — including myself — projected them to play this season.
Heading into Wednesday’s game against the Avalanche in Denver, the Canadiens are occupying the final wild-card spot in the Eastern Conference, well ahead of projections during a season of “roster reset” as general manager Marc Bergevin call -
Bill Brownstein: Get ready for Sammy II — The Bridge!
Seriously? They’re naming the Champlain Bridge replacement the Samuel-de-Champlain Bridge. They must have thought long and hard on that one.
And once the span linking Montreal to the South Shore opens on June 30, it will be known as …. the Champlain Bridge. Much like the Honoré-Mercier Bridge is pretty much only known as the Mercier Bridge. The “Samuel de” will be dropped by motorists faster than the first pile-up and first dropped hubcap on the new bridge.

Martin Patriquin: Cannabis legalization has been a hot mess
The two months since cannabis legalization have been a bloodless calamity of supply shortages, long lines and a general cluelessness of how exactly the various levels of government are meant to deal with the once-verboten drug.
