What started with a call about an injured adult swan a couple of weeks prior spiralled into a series of calls to the Thunderbird Raptor Rescue in Thunder Bay, Ont., to care for eight orphan baby swans, or cygnets, found across northwestern Ontario. The remaining cygnets are currently at Trumpeter Swan Conservation Ontario for specialized care. -

Aviation, Forest Fire and Emergency Services says 14 fires are not under control, five are being held, five are under control and 57 are being observed.
