  An Akwesasne man is facing an Excise Act charge of possessing unstamped tobacco after police stopped a pickup truck leaving a shoreline cottage area in South Glengarry where a boat was spotted arriving on the St. Lawrence River.

  Ottawa police have accepted an offer for technical assistance from the Transportation Safety Board in investigating the deadly Westboro Station bus crash last week, Chief Charles Bordeleau announced Wednesday.
  Bordeleau said the Ottawa police will remain the primary investigators in the crash, that his force had been talking to the TSB since Friday night to get them involved.
