  B.C. Ferries is lowering its fares on 22 routes beginning this week.
  Ticket prices for the 21 inter-island and northern routes as well as the Horseshoe Bay-Langdale route have been reduced by an average of 15 per cent, while fares on the three Metro Vancouver-Vancouver Island routes are being held at current rates.

  Vancouver police are moving in to arrest a man following a disturbance at an apartment in the West End early Wednesday morning.

  Home sales were down nearly 30 per cent in March in Metro Vancouver, as the region marked its lowest first-quarter sales in five years.
  The Real Estate Board of Greater Vancouver says home sales in the region totalled 2,517 in March 2018, a 29.7 per cent decrease from the 3,579 sales recorded in the same month last year.

  The Peter and Joanne Brown Foundation has donated an E.J. Hughes painting bought at auction for $1.14 million to Emily Carr University of Art + Design.
  “Coastal Boats near Sidney, B.C.” is an oil-on-canvas painting depicting two steamships sailing between Vancouver Island and the mainland.
  It was purchased by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of B.C. in 1952 and sold at auction in 2011.

  Waylon Jesse Edey, 39, of Yahk was shot and killed during an attempted traffic stop.
